The Twitter Directory
Twitter currently lacks a good way to find new followers through its site. Right now the only way to find new people is to hear about them from blog posts, search by name, know them personally or peruse through someone’s followers.
What if you were interested in following tweets (peeps/people on twitter) related to your favorite TV show, a restaurant down the street, or a marketing person at a computer company such as Dell?
The Twitter directory aims to fill that gap in twitter usage. They group tweets into categories such as Advertising/PR, Graphic Designers, Politics, etc.
Add yourself to the twitter directory
It’s also super easy to setup your own directory entry.
- Go to the home page and pick your category
- Click the “Click here to add your name” link
- Fill in your name, email, twitter url, and a description for yourself.
- Submit

Thanks for the heads up on twitter directory. I’ve also found that searching summize.com (search.twitter.com) for keywords/topics I’m interested in is another handy way to find people to follow. Now, off to the directory.
